Thank you. I feel like I have my son back…
Aki, thank you. You helped me become a better parent to my children and we are more connected than ever. Working with you was life-changing for our family, and we continue to use your tools every day.
Parenting can be such a sensitive subject – we are all trying to do our best, and we feel like any feedback and suggestions that we hear can feel very personal. Aki is compassionate and tough as a parenting coach. She combines a real-life understanding as a fellow parent with powerful, effective, and actionable tools to help you see improvements in your relationship with your kids immediately. And that’s really key – Aki is all about seeing you building a lifelong relationship with your kids, your partner, and your family as a unit. She helped me specifically learn new techniques to deal with my strong-willed 4-year-old’s behavior, reduce time-outs and tantrums, and give him the tools he can carry with as he grows up. I highly recommend Aki’s work.

Our toddler might not have made it part way through grade school by now had it not been for Aki’s work with us. Our son was having trouble playing well with others when the preschool director recommended that Aki come in and shadow him during the school day. Our son fondly remembers all of the imaginative play that they engaged in during that year. During their games she was patiently helping him to understand the cues of his peers so that he could tone down his physicality, share, take turns, etc. Aki was also able to give the teachers tools that they could use to resolve conflict and redirect play in the largely Lord of the Flies environment. It takes a calm wisdom to be able to juggle and competently address the needs of a toddler, his playmates, the teachers and the director.
That year was tough at home as we were at wits end with how to address our son’s defiance and sibling rivalry with his new sister. Aki met with us each Friday to listen to our concerns and to outline some parenting tools that might help us be better parents. She listened and related to our struggles and offered suggestions, many of which I taped to the fridge and referred to during trying exchanges with our kids. She made herself available between meetings to address concerns. Most importantly, Aki took seriously the art of parenting and understands both how trying and rewarding it can be.
Aki is awesome in every sense. She approaches her work with her whole heart and deeply understands the challenges individual families face. She carefully considers what works for each individual and the family as a unit and helps make life more enjoyable and comfortable.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and currently on the board as the parent education chairperson for my children’s school. Our school was honored to have Aki Raymer present a two hour workshop on Positive Parenting. Aki is very organized, arrived early and well prepared. Aki created detailed handouts for our parents and an informative power point presentation. Aki engaged the parents in her presentation and answered all of our parents questions thoroughly. She shared examples of how to utilize new parenting tools and scientific research to support her recommendations.
Aki is non-judgmental, compassionate, very experienced in child development and family dynamics. Parent workshops are offered regularly through our school and Aki was one of our best speakers! Parent feedback was very positive regarding Aki’s presentation, parents felt that they gained incredible knowledge regarding their child, family dynamics and concrete tools for how to improve their parenting style and approach to discipline using her Positive Parenting methods. Our school director is hoping that Aki will come back to speak at our school again in the future. Aki is an incredible resource for any parent who wants to improve their parenting style and their relationship with their child. Our school community is filled with gratitude that Aki shared her wisdom with us.

This is the second year we asked that Aki come and present to us, because we found her and her presentation style so wonderful and engaging. Our school does not typically request a speaker come back the following year because we have many repeat families, so this just shows how much we really enjoyed her first presentation! And for this year, she created a presentation especially for us! She also followed up afterwards with an email with additional resources to our families. She is very dedicated to her work and helping fellow parents. I would highly recommend Aki for any speaking engagements you may have at your school!

I am a parent who took Aki’s six-week class in San Francisco. Aki is extremely knowledgeable about children and she presented a thoughtful course full of ready-to-use tools for helping toddlers and parents communicate and cooperate. The class was fun and useful and we continue to use her tips and tools on a daily basis.
Aki is a smart and lovely woman and she is wonderful with both children and adults. My son was also participating in Aki’s Play Lab group at Seesaw. Through that class Aki helped me reflect on some motherhood challenges (namely living with a strong-willed toddler) I’ve been experiencing. I trust her deep knowledge and experience in early childhood development combined with her own challanges as a mother that makes Aki so special and easy to relate to.
Aki is awesome! She has good rapport with parents and children, and considerable skill in understanding and helping to resolve challenges children are facing. She works collaboratively and supportively with parents and the child to help resolve those difficulties.
Aki is insightful, clinically sophisticated, compassionate, and skillful in her work. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and was a delight to work with personally.
I can recommend her without reservation.
